The Home Tab

The Home Tab contains the tools for feature control—from individual feature attributes, feature querying and selection to feature analysis from the database.

Attributes

The Attributes section of the Home tab contains the MicroStation feature attribute controls such as level, color, line weights, line styles, transparency, etc.

Primary

The Primary Mapping Tools section on the Home tab contains various icons and dropdowns to open Map Manager, open the schema-defined database connection, edit the parameters of the connection, reference and raster attaching tools, open the key-in window, AccuDraw, running coordinates, etc.

Spatial Tools

The Spatial Tools section on the Home tab contains the tools used to query, post, lock or unlock, and erase features from an existing file. The Query Feature icon is used to start the QueryFeatures utility if the script has been run to add the QueryFeature definitions table to the database (See Appendix A for detailed instructions).

Selection

The Selection section of the Home tab contains an icon for single feature selection and the Fence dropdown list that contains all the Fence commands allowing for multiple feature selection by fence.

Features

The Features section on the Home tab contains icons and dropdowns that allow the user to place, modify, analyze, and edit existing mapping features.

Comms Reference

The Comms Reference section contains two icons that are relevant to DGN persistence only. They are not used with spatial persistence.
